Do motion sensors make any difference?

Motion Detection

This type will automatically switch on the light when the sensor detects movement. The sensor turns off automatically with no movement. The delay time can be set on the sensor itself if it is installed with e.g. DALI, which is programmed via specific software.

This type of sensor has some detection areas, so it will automatically detect finer movements of e.g. a hand in motion. It is designed to make lighting smarter and easier. Will be relevant to use in entrances and hallways as you will achieve great energy savings as the light is only switched on as needed.

More Manual Handling of Lighting

If you choose to install this type, the lighting in this case must be manually switched on by the user instead of using sensors that automatically detect the movement. It is a slightly more developed solution - than traditional lighting, as we know it from some places today, as the lighting goes off automatically when the user leaves the area. Of course, you can also manually switch off the light yourself.

Energy Savings with Motion Sensors

Several advanced motion sensors use photocells, which can measure the daylight in the room itself. Thus, the light is switched off according to the set value of the light or it can be installed with dimming opportunities through smarter control.

If you choose to replace old, traditional light sources, you can take advantage of the LED's significant advantages and especially provide energy savings in different parts of a building. For example, do you install motion sensors in corridors, bathrooms, warehouses or basements - you can achieve energy savings up to 80%.

At LTC LED Lighting we offer a range of motion sensors which can be adjusted to the client's preference. We have a range of soffit motion light sensors and solar motion sensors for outdoor use.
